Navajo artist Floyd Becenti has been creating Native American storyteller silver for a very long time. Over the years he has done some very interesting and sensitive silver stories, like the life depicted on this wonderful bracelet. The sterling silver shows various aspects in the daily life of the Native American while gracing your arm. It measures 8 1/4" around the inside and 1" wide. Storyteller art emerged, partly in response to the desire of non-Native Americans to have some sort of Indian folk art to display or wear. Storyteller jewelry pieces are generally overlay (two layers of metal). The top layer with a cutout design is placed over a bottom layer and 'sweated' (heated) so that they become one piece of metal. Each figure is cut out, then placed onto a contrasting background and finished in place. This is a very painstaking and delicate process assuring you of beauty and grace for your personal style.
