Russell Shack, Native American, carves black marble using sgraffito style techniques to finish appealing art pieces. Coyotes are believed to bring laughter, humor and foolishness. The howling coyote has an etched heart-line on both sides (symbolizing the breath of life), inlaid turquoise eyes, and a decorative pattern on his chest including inlaid turquoise dots. He measures 2 1/8" long, 2 1/4" tall, and is 1/2" thick. The artist has signed the bottom of this piece.
