Details

Stanton Hannaweeke is an established Zuni fetish carver who specializes in carving Zuni pig fetishes. Stanton's father, Charles (d), was a Zuni jeweler, as was his uncle, Thomas, who is considered one of the finest Zuni Pueblo jewelers. This whimsical momma pig (sow) has a litter of four little piggys, each free-standing. Momma pig can stand on her feet as well! The dolomite is carved and polished, and inlaid with turquoise for eyes on all five! The momma pig has extra inlaid turquoise dots for her babies! This beautiful stone shows natural striping and shading. The momma pig is 3 1/2" long, 2" tall, and 1/2" thick. Each baby is slightly different, in color and size with different striations in the natural stone. They are about 1" long and stand about 3/8" tall. Each item by Native Americans is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
