This Navajo Copper Silver Animal Totem Cuff features an overlaid technique using two sheets of metal. Thomas Begay cut out and hammered tribal images in assorted designs, using genuine Copper and German Silver. He finished the bracelet with hand hammered patterns and a satin buffing. It's 5/8" wide and 5-1/2" cuff with 1-1/4" opening fits an approximate 6-3/4" wrist. Handmade by Thomas A Begay and hallmarked, as such.
Thomas A Begay (1955- ) was born in Many Farms, AZ. He learned the traditional style from his father but eventually switched over to Hopi overlay, a style that he has loved for as long as could remember. His wife of more than 40 years, Ilene (1948- ) sometimes helps him with the stamping making his work a family affair.
Your correct wrist size: you must measure the circumference of your wrist. You can use a cloth tape measure, a ¼” strip of paper or a cord to wrap around your wrist and mark it. Lay it out flat and measure the length against a ruler, that’s your exact circumference and the size you wear.
