Green Raku Water Pot with Stick Handle by Barbara Heard

A traditional water jar shape is enhanced with handles and a weathered manzanita branch bound with raffia straps. Green glaze is mellowed by the raku process which imbues the form with a rich earthen tone. The raku process creates a glossy crackle surface infused with smoky accents on this lidded ceramic box. It stands 17 1/4" tall and is 9" wide (the length of the stick handle). While the outside is a glazed surface, the interior is a rough/matte surface, designed for decorative purposes and should not be used for food.
