Rachel Concho

Rachel Concho was born into the Roadrunner Clan in Acoma Pueblo in 1936. She learned the art of making pottery from her mother, Santana Cerno, and is still making her signature seed pots. Rachel won the Best in Show Award at the 2000 Santa Fe Indian Market. She has also won 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Ribbons at the Eight Northern Pueblos Arts and Crafts Show. She is the sister of Joseph Cerno and the mother-in-law of Carolyn Lewis-Concho.

Her designs are derived from ancient pot shards found on the lands of Acoma Pueblo, including ancient Mimbres designs.
