Montana Moss Agate is found in the Yellowstone River and Valley mostly between Sidney and Forsyth, Montana. Montana Moss Agate is from the Pleistocene age (10,000 – 1,6000,000). They are nodules of gray, translucent chalcedony, and can be found in many colors from dark (almost black) to brown to orange or green to clear. The artist has certainly matched these stones closely. These vintage sterling silver clip earrings 1" long and 3/4" wide. You can see the decorated silver projecting on the top, while a twisted rope and sterling silver dots complete the bottom of these earrings. They have a flat silver back with no markings.
